Mowbot Evolution 05 Robotic Lawn Mower The MowBot Evolution is the newest MowBot to be released, this top of the range model includes all the features of the MowBot deluxe as well as the new Auto Programming. This will enable MowBot to judge how often to needs to cut the lawn.It is suitable for a lawn up to 3000 sq/m or if you don't work in metric it is 3588sq/yds or 32290sq/ft. The area is the same as 11 & half tennis courts, half a football pitch or 3/4 acre.
Auto Programming The new auto programming enables the MowBot to judge how often it will need to come out and mow. Its intelligent system allows MowBot to work out how long it has been cutting and how long it will need to stay in the base unit. This will considerably conserve the batteries, motors and your lawn.
Lithium Batteries 30% lighter than lead batteries. Increased life span, they can last up to 4 years Less susceptible to long shutdown periods. Work time is up to 10% longer.
Intelligent Spiral MowBot Evolution can detect longer and shorter grass. In shorter grass the blade runs at a slower speed, cutting in a random pattern using less battery power. When Evolution detects longer grass it cuts in spirals and increases the blade speed. Once it reaches shorter grass it will continue cutting in a random pattern.

Installing MowBot at your home
To install MowBot in your garden a wire will need to be laid around the perimeter of your lawn to define MowBot’s work area. The border wire is pegged flush to the surface of your lawn, 30cm in from the edge or any obstacles which are lower than 15cm. The wire after a couple of weeks becomes unnoticeable as the grass will grow over the top. Alternatively the wire can be buried as far down as 40cm. The border wire creates a loop around your lawn which connects to MowBot’s garage which in turn is plugged into the mains. The wire carries safe electric current which MowBot detects as it passes over it, making it turn around and go in the opposite direction.
|
| Safety systems
If MowBot is accidentally lifted up or turned over, the blade will stop automatically to avoid any injuries to family or pets. If the border wire is accidentally cut or broken MowBot will automatically stop and display a warning on it’s control panel. MowBot will work safely on lawns that have gradients up to 27° without losing either speed or power and without the risk of turning over. If you are worried about children playing with the control panel a pin number can be entered to prevent access, this will also deter theft. The whole unit including the control panel is waterproof allowing MowBot to operate in all weather conditions safely.
| | Setting MowBot’s cutting times
MowBot is very easy to program . It can work both day & night as it is very quiet. All you have to do is set the times for starting and stopping work, together with the days you want it to operate on.
|
| Intelligent recharging
MowBot really is an intelligent robot because it is able to recharge it’s own batteries without you having to intervene. When MowBot senses it’s batteries need recharging (usually after 2-3hrs of cutting) it will make it’s way back to it’s garage to recharge. The recharging time is intelligently controlled by a microprocessor that modifies the charging time dependent on the temperature.

No More Mess and Bags of Grass Cutting
Two
sealed batteries power MowBot, so there's no petrol or oil to mess
with. Power consumption is extremely modest, using three highly
efficient electric motors to power the wheels and the eight blade
cutting disc.
What's more, you won't have to worry about
collecting and bagging grass cuttings any more. MowBot is a mulching
lawnmower, which means the grass cuttings are cut and re-cut, then
blown back deep into the grass roots which returns nutrients straight
back to your lawn.

Mowbot does Really Look After Itself
With
any electric cordless product the first question you ask is 'How often
and for how long will I have to recharge it?' We believe for a robot to
be truly automatic then it should take care of recharging it's own
batteries and MowBot does exactly that.
Once you've programmed
how often you would like MowBot to mow, there's no need to do anything
else. MowBot will leave it's charging bay (which you can hide under a
bush or a tree) at the correct time, mow your lawn and when it feels
it's batteries are getting run down it will make it's way back to it's
home to recharge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is it safe?
A: Treat it like a traditional mower & don't forget the blade is very
sharp. Make sure your garden is clear of any items lower than 15cm.
Q: What happens if there is
a power cut?
A: MowBot will instantly stop, as soon as the power returns it will continue
to cut your lawn
Q: My garden is hilly. Will
MowBot cope with the slopes?
A: Yes. MowBot will work safely on lawns that have gradients as steep as 27
degrees without losing speed or power and without the risk of turning over.
Q: How long does it take to
charge the batteries?
A: Around 2-3 hours and because MowBot looks after the recharging itself you
won't even notice!
Q: How long will it take to
mow my lawn?
A: MowBot cuts 125sq/m an hour. It cuts your lawn on a continual basis, popping
out each day to keep your lawn in check. This is unlike conventional mowing
where you wait until you lawn looks untidy first!
Q: Does MowBot work well in
long grass?
A: MowBot is designed to keep your lawn at the ideal height. It may be preferred
to cut your lawn before you install MowBot to get the best results.
Q: How long do the batteries
last for?
A: Mowbot batteries last for 2-3 hours. The batteries life should last for
over two years, on average if charged regularly.
Q: Can MowBot work in the rain?
A: Yes, all of the electronics are sealed in a waterproof compartment. But
just like traditional mowers best results are achieved in the dry. As MowBot
mulches wet grass can clump together and MowBot may leave temporary tracks
in the grass. If this is a concern an optional rain sensor (Deluxe model comes
complete) can be fitted so that MowBot returns home if it starts to rain.
Q: I have a physical disability,
would you recommend the MowBot?
A: Yes, MowBot is an ideal solution for you. MowBot removes all the pushing,
walking and bending that traditional mowing involves. All you need to do is
enjoy your perfectly cut lawn.
Q: Is the height of cut adjustable?
A: Yes, the blade can be moved up and down to achieved the length of grass
that you prefer.
Q: Is the perimeter cable safe
having an electric current running through it?
A: Yes, the cable only has a weak electric current which the MowBot uses to
define it's work area.
Q: Is it just a gimmick or the
latest gadget?
A: It is a true solution to a problem. 15 years ago people thought that dishwashers
were a gimmick and they are now considered an essential kitchen appliance
by many households.
Q: Can I bury the perimeter
cable?
A: Yes, up to 40cm deep. It is recommended to start by pegging it to the surface
first so that minor adjustment can be made easily, then when you are happy
you can bury it. If you peg the wire flush to the surface you will find that
after a while the grass roots will grow over the wire anyway.
Q: What about my lawn edges?
A: When MowBot returns home it follows the perimeter cable around the edge
of your lawn. With some fine adjustments of the cable, MowBot will mow right
up to the edge.
Q: Does MowBot have a guarantee?
A: MowBot now comes with a full two years warranty from date you purchased
it.
Q: How does it know how to cut?
A: MowBot's onboard sensors can detect the frequency of the electric current
passing through the perimeter cable so that it always knows where in your
lawn it is.
Q: Is it safe?
A: MowBot is CE approved and will cut out if it lifted or turns over. You
still need to treat it with care just like any traditional mower. It's blade
is very sharp!
Q: What is the width of cut?
A: 30cm, but as it does all the work for you it is not as important as it
is for traditional mowers.
How does MowBot know where to mow?
Before you set MowBot off to work you will need to lay the border wire. This simple one-off installation defines MowBot's work area.
The MowBot will then work freely within the area defined by the wire, sensing its proximity to the edge of the lawn and any obstacles. For obstacles such as trees, walls and sheds MowBot will sense when it bumps into them and promptly turn around and mow in the opposite direction.
