Interference-free DAB radio

DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) digital radio is, on top of FM analogue transmission, a new way of broadcasting radio via a network of terrestrial transmitters. It provides listeners with more choices and information delivered in crystal clear, crackle-free sound quality. The technology allows the receiver to lock on to the strongest signal it can find. With DAB digital stations there are no frequencies to remember and sets are tuned by station name, so there is no returning on the move.

Bass reflex speaker system

Bass reflex speaker system delivers a deep bass experience from a compact loudspeaker box system. It differs from a conventional loudspeaker box system in the addition of a bass pipe that is acoustically aligned to the woofer to optimise the low frequency roll off of the system. The result is deeper controlled bass and lower distortion. The system works by resonating the air mass in the bass pipe to vibrate like a conventional woofer. Combined with the response of the woofer, the system extends the overall low frequency sounds to create a whole new dimension of deep bass.

Sleep timer

Sleep Timer lets you decide how long you want to listen to music or a radio station of your choice before falling asleep. Simply set a time limit (up to 1 hour) and choose a CD or radio station to listen to while you drift off to sleep. The set will continue to play for the selected duration and then automatically switch off to a power efficient, silent standby mode. Sleep Timer lets you fall asleep to your favourite CD or radio DJ without counting sheep or worrying about wasting power.

Q. How to I adjust LCD brightness of Clock Radio Philips AJ5100?
A. Press and hold INFO for 2 seconds to switch Dim on or off.

Auto dim on will be activated if dim function is off in the last setting.
Auto dim off will be activated if dim function is on in the last setting.

If Dim function is activated and there is 15 seconds of button inactivity, the LCD brightness will be decreased to save power. Pressing any button will resume the original LCD brightness.

Q. How do I scan a DAB station using Philips AJ5100?
A. In DAB mode, press briefly SCAN to perform a local search for DAB stations.

Q. How to preset DAB stations in the Clock Radio?
A. You can preset up to 10 DAB stations in the Clock Radio.

In DAB mode, In DAB mode, press 1 / 2 repeatedly until your desired station name is displayed.
Press and hold one of the preset buttons (1-5) on the top of the set to store the preset.

To save on presets 6-10, first press SHIFT, then press and hold the desired preset button for 2 seconds.
