How quickly can you display your digital photos?
Pick your memory card from the digital camera and insert it in to the Varnam digital Photo frame and power on the frame! Its that quick. Experience a new dimension to your precious memories.
What is so special about the Varnam digital photo frame?
As you may be aware that you need a High resolution digital camera (one with Higher mega pixels) to capture a high quality image, similarly to display the photographed image you need a high quality display.
Varnam VM1040 10.4 inch digital photo frame comes with a High Quality LCD screen with a resolution of 640x480 pixels, resulting in brilliant pictures. VM1040 supports 262144 colours.
More over the photo frame comes with built in speakers. This allows you to play your favourite MP3 music using the photo frame, while displaying the pictures in a slide show.
Varnam digital photo frame can also play back video files of MPEG, MPEG2 and MPEG4 formats.
If your digital camera can record video in these formats on to the memory card, then it can be played back on the frame.
There are several other photo frames available what is the difference between Varnam and the other makes?
Screen Quality
The main difference is the screen quality. In Varnam digital photo frame images are displayed perfectly with out any distortion and colours are reproduced brilliantly.
Many of the unbranded digital frames have poor picture quality and the images appear elongated or squashed.
Screen size
VM1040 has a diagonal screen measurement of 10.4 inches. This provides a better display than the 5.6 inch 6.5 and 7 inch screens.
Viewing angle
Extra Wide viewing angle
, with LCD screens, this is an important factor that needs to be considered. In Varman digital frame the viewing angle is 70 degrees when viewed from left to right. 40 degrees when viewed from top and 70 degrees when viewed from bottom.
What is a viewing angle?
If you place the photo frame on your desk or table in your room, you will be viewing the photo display from a distance, your eye will not be in straight line to the centre of the photo frame but at an angle.
If the LCD screen does not support wide viewing angle then you will not be able to see the images clearly from a distance or from the sides (a ghost like distortion will appear). Many of the cheaper frames suffer from this problem.
Appearance
A rich wooden frame finish provides a superior look to the product and suits most interiors.
Mounting options
The photo frame can be placed on a table using the supplied stand.
There are slots provided on the frame so that you can hang the frame on a wall. Time to digitise your wall paintings!
Remote Control
A full feature remote control is included for ease of operation.

Varnam Pixel Defect Policy
LCD screens is made up of a fixed number of thousands of tiny pixels. A 10.4" flat-screen with a resolution of 640 x 480 for example, has 307200 pixels. Each pixel comprises three sub-pixels (red, green and blue) so on the 10.4" above, there's almost 921600 dots in total. Behind each pixel is a transistor. When a transistor fails it manifests itself as a bright, dark or coloured dot on the screen that stands out from the rest.
Today's production techniques unfortunately cannot guarantee an absolutely fault-free screen display and buyers should be aware of the possibility of imperfections (in the form of a few isolated constantly lit or unlit pixels) before choosing to purchase a LCD or Plasma display.
Due to this, there is a industry wide commonly accepted 'tolerance level' by which these kind of displays may have such imperfections (or stuck pixels) without being classified as faulty. Therefore please note that we can only take back displays as faulty for refund/repair if the number of stuck pixels exceeds the manufacturer's guidelines.
Varnam strives to deliver the highest quality products. However, pixel or sub pixel defects on the TFT LCD panels used in flat panel monitors are sometimes unavoidable. No manufacturer can guarantee that all panels will be free from pixel defects, but we guarantees that any display with an unacceptable number of defects will be repaired or replaced under warranty. This notice explains the different types of pixel defects and defines acceptable defect levels for each type. In order to qualify for repair or replacement under warranty, the number of pixel defects on a TFT LCD panel must exceed these acceptable levels.
Pixels and Sub pixels
A pixel, or picture element, is composed of three sub pixels in the primary colors of red, green and blue. Many pixels together form an image. When all sub pixels of a pixel are lit, the three colored sub pixels together appear as a single white pixel. When all are dark, the three colored sub pixels together appear as a single black pixel. Other combinations of lit and dark sub pixels appear as single pixels of other colors.
